Who is ArchwayOnline designed for?

ArchwayOnline may be a great fit for families looking for an affordable, flexible, accredited education option that can adapt to a student’s individual goals and circumstances.

Can we enroll at any time during the year?

Yes! You don’t have to wait for the next school year to make a change!

ArchwayOnline offers rolling, year-round enrollment, giving families the flexibility to begin when the timing is right for their child. Our school operates 12 months a year, so students can begin their ArchwayOnline journey without having to wait for a traditional school start date or semester break.

Whether you are looking for a new educational option mid-year, transitioning from another school, beginning your homeschool journey, or simply ready for a change, you can start when your family is ready. Once enrolled, students remain active in the program until they graduate or formally withdraw from ArchwayOnline.

Life doesn’t always follow a traditional school calendar. Your child’s education shouldn’t have to either.

Can my student work on school at any time of day?

Yes! One of the benefits of asynchronous learning is the ability to work around your family’s schedule. Students may complete coursework in the morning, afternoon, evening, or other times that work best for their learning routine. Your student can choose when to learn, however our team is only available during regular business hours for tutoring, questions, and support.

Our program provides significant flexibility, but flexibility does not mean no deadlines. Students complete asynchronous coursework with weekly assignment due dates, allowing families to build school into their schedules while still maintaining accountability and academic progress.

Flexibility for families & students and access to real experts when you need them.  That’s the best of both worlds!

How much time should my student expect to spend on school each day?

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer! Every student’s schedule, learning pace, course load, and goals are different. Our courses are designed to provide the appropriate instructional time needed to meet credit requirements, while our flexible online format allows families to build a schedule that works for their student.

Your Academic Advisor or Success Coach can help you determine what a typical school day may look like for your child. Since each student’s learning plan is created around their individual goals and course needs, we can help you find a schedule that keeps your student on track without trying to fit every learner into the same mold.

Education should fit your student, not the other way around.

Does ArchwayOnline provide support for students with learning differences or exceptionalities?

Yes! We understand that every student learns differently, and we want students to have the support they need to be successful in our online learning environment.

As a private school, ArchwayOnline is not funded or required to provide the specific services or accommodations outlined in a public school IEP or 504 Plan. However, our team will work with families to understand a student’s individual learning needs and determine what accommodations and supports can reasonably be provided within our online learning environment.

When appropriate, an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) can be created to outline accommodations and strategies that support the student’s learning and help them successfully navigate their courses.

Our goal is to understand your student’s unique needs, identify what we can provide, and create a learning plan that helps your student find success at ArchwayOnline.

Note: If your student has an IEP, 504 Plan, or other educational documentation, we encourage you to discuss your student’s needs with our team before or at the time of enrollment so we can help you understand what support may be available.

Does ArchwayOnline support students who are learning English?

Yes! ArchwayOnline serves students and families around the world, and we understand that learning in a different language  comes with additional challenges. Our online learning environment offers helpful tools that can support students as they work through their courses, including the ability to access lesson content translation in different languages when available.

Because ArchwayOnline is a U.S. accredited school, students must complete our academic and graduation requirements in order to earn an ArchwayOnline diploma. Communication with our teachers, Success Coaches, Academic Advisors, and other school staff must be conducted in English.

Our goal is to provide students with tools that support their learning while helping them build the English skills needed to successfully navigate an accredited U.S. education.

What curriculum does ArchwayOnline use?

ArchwayOnline provides online coursework through Canvas, with curriculum designed to support students while meeting applicable state and national standards. We partner with leading online curriculum providers to give students access to high-quality courses across a wide range of subjects.

But we are also building something uniquely our own. Our teaching team is also our curriculum development team. Our curriculum specialists are actively developing and replacing full courses with ArchwayOnline created curriculum designed specifically with our students and families in mind. Many members of our team have personal experience with homeschooling, were former homeschool students themselves, are currently homeschooling parents, or fall into all categories.  So they understand that homeschool families need a curriculum that combines clear expectations with engaging, meaningful learning while still allowing room for flexibility and individuality.

We are not simply putting curriculum online. We’re building an educational experience around the students and families we serve.

Can my student transfer credits from another school or homeschool program?

Yes! Students transferring to ArchwayOnline will have their previous transcripts reviewed to determine which credits transfer and what additional courses may be needed to meet their educational goals and ArchwayOnline graduation requirements. Independent homeschool students also have options for validating eligible coursework for credit.

Not sure how your student’s previous coursework will fit into an ArchwayOnline learning plan? Families can schedule an Academic Review before enrolling. During this review, our team can examine available academic records and help you better understand how previous coursework may apply toward your student’s educational pathway and graduation plan. This Academic Review is available for a $75 fee.

Have questions about your student’s credits? Don’t guess, let us help you understand your options.

Will my student receive a diploma and official transcript?

Yes. ArchwayOnline provides official transcripts and diplomas for students who meet the requirements for an ArchwayOnline diploma.

Can ArchwayOnline help my student prepare for college or a career?

Yes. Academic Advisors work with students and families to plan coursework around their individual goals, including college, career, military, trade school and other post-high-school pathways.

Can students participate in extracurricular activities, athletics, internships, or work while attending ArchwayOnline?

Yes. The flexibility of asynchronous learning can make it easier for students to pursue extracurricular activities, volunteer opportunities, internships, clubs, athletics, and other interests alongside their academic coursework. Some activities may also qualify for elective credit when they meet AO requirements.

At ArchwayOnline, we believe a student’s interests and goals are part of their education, not distractions from it.

How involved do parents need to be?

ArchwayOnline is designed to partner with parents throughout their child’s educational journey. Parents play an important role in helping their child stay engaged, monitor progress, review coursework, communicate with school staff, and develop the habits of responsibility and academic integrity that support long-term success.

Parents don’t have to become their child’s teacher or take on the responsibility of teaching every lesson. However, parents play an important role in their child’s success. We encourage parents to stay involved by monitoring progress, reviewing coursework, communicating with the AO team, encouraging their student, and helping them develop the habits and responsibility needed to be a successful independent learner.

You don’t have to be the teacher, but you remain an important part of your child’s educational team.

Who is my support team?

Parents have access to Academic Advisors, Success Coaches, school staff, MyAO and other resources designed to help them navigate their child’s educational journey. Homeschool advising and academic planning are also available as part of AO’s model..

Academic Advisors work with students and families to create individualized learning plans based on the student’s current academic progress, goals, interests, and desired path after high school. They help families select appropriate courses, understand graduation requirements, plan toward graduation, and make adjustments as a student’s goals or circumstances change. They are also available to answer questions about academic pathways, course options, credits, graduation planning, and other academic decisions along the way.

Whether your student is working toward an ArchwayOnline diploma, preparing for college or a career, exploring unique elective opportunities, or taking a different path than the traditional school model, your Academic Advisor is there to help you understand your options and keep your student moving toward their goals. Think of your Academic Advisor as your family’s guide for your educational journey, helping you understand where your child is, where they want to go, and how to get there. Parents don’t have to figure out the high school years alone.

ArchwayOnline students have access to qualified teachers who monitor courses, provide academic support, and are available for tutoring. Students and parents can communicate directly with teachers through our learning management system, Canvas, to ask questions, get clarification on instructions or assignments, and receive guidance when they need it.

Our Success Coach program is one of the most valuable parts of the ArchwayOnline experience. While students may complete their coursework online, they don’t have to navigate the journey alone. Success Coaches build relationships with students by helping them stay connected, encouraged, organized, and accountable throughout the school year.

Success Coaches communicate with students and families through phone, email, text, and Zoom. They check in, celebrate progress, help students work through challenges, and encourage them to develop the habits and confidence they need to be successful as independent learners.

For many AO families, having a dedicated Success Coach is what transforms online learning from simply completing coursework into feeling connected to a school community.

Where does ArchwayOnline serve students?

ArchwayOnline serves students across the United States and around the world! Because our program is online, families can access their student’s education from wherever they live, giving them the flexibility to continue their education even when life takes them across state lines or international borders.

Our accreditation allows us to serve a wide range of students and families, and we work with families to help them understand how ArchwayOnline fits within their individual educational circumstances. For international students, we also offer apostille services for eligible school documents when official authentication is needed.

For families using ArchwayOnline, we encourage parents to become familiar with requirements in their state or country of residence. Requirements can vary by location, and families are responsible for following applicable local guidelines. ArchwayOnline offers an international pathway designed to provide additional support for students who are learning English and for families who need an internationally accessible accredited school option.

Wherever you are, ArchwayOnline can help make a quality, accredited education more accessible, flexible, and personal.

How do I know if ArchwayOnline is right for my student?

Every student and family is different. The best way to determine whether ArchwayOnline is a good fit is to talk with our team.

We’ll ask about your student’s current educational experience, goals, learning needs, and what your family is hoping to find in an online school.

You don’t have to figure it all out before you contact us. Start the conversation, ask your questions, and let us help you explore whether ArchwayOnline is the right fit.

What makes ArchwayOnline different from other online schools?

ArchwayOnline combines the flexibility of online education with something we believe matters just as much: relationships. Students have access to Teachers, Success Coaches, and Academic Advisors, while parents have a team they can turn to for guidance and encouragement.

Flexible learning. Personalized support. A school that knows your student matters.

What if my family has tried homeschooling or another online school and it didn't work?

You’re not alone. Sometimes a student doesn’t need to work harder, they just need a different environment, better support, more flexibility, or a clearer plan.

ArchwayOnline works with families to understand where a student is now and help create a path forward.

Can my student take a different path than the traditional school schedule?

ArchwayOnline can provide a flexible educational pathway that takes a student’s current academic progress and individual goals into consideration. Academic Advisors work with families to develop and adjust education plans as needed.

One of the benefits of AO’s flexible model is that students can build an education plan around their individual goals, interests, and circumstances while still working toward academic requirements. This includes students who are looking to work ahead, or who may need some extra support after falling behind.

It’s normal for students to struggle with a course or assignment from time to time, and they don’t have to figure it out alone. Students have access to their teachers and academic support, including tutoring opportunities. Families can also work with their student’s Success Coach and Academic Advisor to identify challenges and determine the best next steps.

The most important thing is to communicate early. If your student is struggling, falling behind, feeling overwhelmed, or simply unsure of what to do next, reach out to our team as soon as possible. The sooner we understand what is happening, the sooner we can work with you and your student to find solutions and provide the right support.

Don’t wait until a course target end date is approaching to ask for help! We can help, but first, we need to know what’s going on. Communication is key to student success!

Does ArchwayOnline offer Dual Enrollment opportunities?

Yes. ArchwayOnline offers dual enrollment opportunities qualifying high school students, allowing them to earn high school and college credits simultaneously through any accredited college or university. ArchwayOnline does not cap the number of dual enrollment courses a student can take, provided they meet the host institution’s admission requirements. You can read more about their dual enrollment policies and credit structure on ArchwayOnline’s High School Information page.
